The hero in Homer's 'Odyssey' was Odysseus, and the hero in Homer's 'Iliad' was Achilles. Both poems were written by Homer, and many similarities as well as differences are seen between the two heroes. Although similar, those men were not carbon copies of each other, for they did have different characters. They were heroes first and foremost.
